Former Buckeyes star defensive back Nate Salley helps drfat status with fast time at combine

Roger Brown - Plain Dealer - Sun March 05 2006

OSU part 2,

Former Buckeyes star defensive back Nate Salley, now an NFL draft prospect, helped himself by running the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds at the recent league combine. Some NFL officials previously wondered if Salley, who weighs 220 or so, had the foot speed to cover pro receivers.

Draft numbers part 2,

Defensive lineman Barry Cofield, who starred at Northwestern and Cleveland Heights High, has been running 40-yard sprints at 4.9 seconds - pretty impressive for a 307-pound man. Cofield has been lobbying for the Browns to draft him next month. He may have a point.
